Incoherent Babbling

Yesterday was a big day here in America. About as big as they come. …and I am only slightly ashamed to say that I didn’t get a whole lot of work done because of it.

My plans for today, however, include getting more completed on the Community Commission No. 2! I’m hoping to have the second pinup penciled before the end of the day, in addition to putting the finishing touches on a brand new t-shirt design! When it’s ready, I’ll give you a peek at it. It’s gonna make you laugh ’til milk spurts out of your nose. …even if you’re not drinking milk. Mwahahaha!

….but…..but…. Where will the milk come from?!

Goodbye depth perception… Hello lunch!!! OM NOM NOM NOM!

Oh, hello there! I didn’t hear you come in! Make yourself comfortable. “Where do I get my inspiration?” A lot of folks ask me that, and the answer is really quite simple! Ritual sacrifice to dark, ancient, and hungry gods! I receive their horrible visions! …then I scrawl down as much as I can before I pass out in a pool of my own blood and urine. And when I wake up… I pass the artwork, and the savings, on to you!

Things are exciting here this week! Lots of great stuff is happening, and it’s only Monday… what does the rest of the week hold? I will consult the oracles.

The best news so far comes to us courtesy of Violet Blue of tiny nibbles fame. Megan and I love her work, and a couple nights ago Megan decided to send Violet a copy of our October Stacy pinup. Violet reminds us a bit of Stacy, and we figured she’d get a kick out of it. As it turns out, Violet is also a big fan of horror movies, and Halloween in general. She got all fired up over the pinup, and posted a review of Tasty Flesh on her blog, along with previews, links to Tasty Flesh, links to martinwhitmore.com, and a link to my ridiculous Jaws video tribute. Ha! Anyway, it was a really sweet thing for her to do, and if you’re visiting from her site, welcome! Pay no attention to the screaming from the basement, and we’ll get along just fine. (~_O)

In addition to Violet’s post, we got some other great news this weekend: We made our second goal on Community Commission No. 2! That means everyone gets two illustrations instead of one, and I’ll be making new $7 Marty Money! It also means that you guys all kick ass. I really appreciate everyone’s participation. We had a ball giving away input and extra prizes on the mailing list, too! If you’re entitled to creative input and you haven’t given it to me (or if you’re thinking of joining up but haven’t yet), you’d better get moving! Donations close in two days, and I’ll be getting started using the input I have then! I’m gonna get started on the pencils on Thursday. Holy crap, that went fast!

Last but not least, I’ve given some thought to the update schedule for Tasty Flesh. I’ve been able to keep pretty far ahead doing one strip a week, and I think I can do better! So, starting this week, we’re going to start updating the strip twice a week. Now you’ll be able to get your fix of hot strippers and voracious zombies on Tuesday and Friday mornings! Rejoice, Necrophans! (Necro-fans? Can I say that without being lynched? Aren’t I already in danger of being lynched?) Your dark rituals and sacrifices have been answered with horrors from above! (Don’t spend it all in one place.)

As if all that weren’t enough, I have the November pinup inked already! Wanna see!?
