The Good Ol’ Days

Martin Whitmore posted Nov 10th, 2008 @ 4:00 pm (2 Comments)

I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival with some friends this weekend, and we had a great time. Any excuse to wear a kilt and be surrounded by ladies in corsets is an excellent expenditure of time in my book. Of course, another one of my guilty Ren Faire pleasures is trolling around all the weapons dealers and playing with the lovely sharp things. …and blunt things. Someday I’ll get myself a nice warhammer. Heheheh. Makes me kind of long for the days when disputes were settled without lawyers. When an argument was settled when the hatchet was buried. …deeply in the loser’s skull. Sure, I can buy a gorgeous archaic weapon at a fair, but where can I use it?

Anyway, I hope you all had as nice a weekend as I did, and here is a sample of the fruits of my labor yesterday. Enjoy!

Naughty Bits

Martin Whitmore posted Nov 7th, 2008 @ 10:47 pm (1 Comment)

You’ll notice, no doubt, that I’ve covered up all the naughty bits of the latest pinup. I thought that this time around it would be nice to try making a sexy pair of pinups, while leaving a little something to the imagination. …because I know how good your imaginations are. Mwahaha!

Also, it gives the two pieces a nice dichotomy. I think the undies give it a nice playful feel, where the other piece makes her look like she is spiraling downwards into insanity, prodded along by visions of Lovecraftian horrors offering her delicious candy treats!

Tomorrow I will be taking a day off to attend the Texas Renaissance Fair, but I may still post something at the end of the day. Wish me good weather, and many kilt-checks! Heheheh.

High Times at Ridgemont Fast

Martin Whitmore posted Nov 7th, 2008 @ 12:38 am (3 Comments)

So, a local high school (well, *semi* local. It took me about an hour to get there, thanks to rush hour traffic) is putting on a musical this month. My friend Angel recommended me to their director for my airbrush makeup experience. So, tonight I went to do a test run on doing makeup for “Zombie Prom”, the musical.

What?!

Yes, my friends, it’s a love story… Boy meets girl, falls in love with girl, falls into vat of radioactive waste, dies, rises from the dead, and finally gets the girl. …or her brains. I’m not sure which, I haven’t seen the whole show. The catch is, I only have 15 minutes to do all his makeup. He comes out of a scene alive, then goes back on 15 minutes later as a glowing green zombie. It’s challenging and fun! The makeup looked fantastic, and I did it well under the time limit. They were very happy with it.

I also worked up some new pencils for Community Commission No.2 today. You can see them below; I hope you’re enjoying the sneak peeks. I’m probably going to start inking those soon, and working on the rest of the pieces. I think you’ll all like where this is heading.

…and for some reason, I couldn’t get the phrase “Large Hadron Collider” out of my head all day. Talk about weird.

I’ll get you next time, Senator Government!

Martin Whitmore posted Nov 5th, 2008 @ 10:26 am (1 Comment)

….that’s President Government, thank you very much!

Yesterday was a big day here in America. About as big as they come. …and I am only slightly ashamed to say that I didn’t get a whole lot of work done because of it.

My plans for today, however, include getting more completed on the Community Commission No. 2! I’m hoping to have the second pinup penciled before the end of the day, in addition to putting the finishing touches on a brand new t-shirt design! When it’s ready, I’ll give you a peek at it. It’s gonna make you laugh ’til milk spurts out of your nose. …even if you’re not drinking milk. Mwahahaha!

….but…..but…. Where will the milk come from?!

P.S.- I added a bunch of photos from Halloween to my Flickr account! Here’s a look at one of them, and you can see the rest here!

Wanna Play

NEXT TIIIIIIIIME!
